# iStatic vs iPixel Color

The clearest difference is price: iPixel Color at Free against iStatic's $0.99. iPixel Color also leads on rating (2.9 vs 1.0) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 16 months). iStatic's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 29%) and iOS requirement (11.4 vs 15.0). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

iPixel Color is free to download; iStatic costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

iPixel Color holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iPixel Color has 468 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of iStatic's written reviews are positive against 29% of iPixel Color's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iStatic ships an update every 16 months, iPixel Color every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on June 11, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
