GeoTracker Lite is free to download; GPS Kit costs $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GeoTracker Lite holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 367 and 269 respectively.
