# Tic Tac Toe vs Tic

The clearest difference is rating: Tic Tac Toe at 4.5 against Tic's 4.0. Tic Tac Toe also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 8). Tic's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tic Tac Toe sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Tic asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tic Tac Toe holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tic Tac Toe has 2.8K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Tic Tac Toe's written reviews are positive against 100% of Tic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tic Tac Toe ships an update every 9 months, Tic weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
