# iTranslate Translator vs Learn German

The clearest difference is ads: iTranslate Translator at none against Learn German's shown. iTranslate Translator also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (532K vs 37). Learn German's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 69%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iTranslate Translator sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Learn German sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iTranslate Translator holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iTranslate Translator has 532K ratings behind it against 37, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of iTranslate Translator's written reviews are positive against 100% of Learn German's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iTranslate Translator ships an update weekly, Learn German every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
