# SugarSync vs CloudMe

The clearest difference is rating: CloudMe at 3.8 against SugarSync's 3.2. CloudMe also leads on ads (none vs shown). SugarSync's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and review sentiment (81% vs 46%). On price, update cadence, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CloudMe sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. SugarSync asks for nothing beyond the download.

CloudMe holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SugarSync has 109 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of SugarSync's written reviews are positive against 46% of CloudMe's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SugarSync ships an update every 5 months, CloudMe every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
