# SugarSync vs OpenDrive

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SugarSync at 81% against OpenDrive's 15%. SugarSync also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). OpenDrive's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.2) and ads (none vs shown). On price, ratings volume, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OpenDrive sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. SugarSync asks for nothing beyond the download.

OpenDrive holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 115 and 43 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of SugarSync's written reviews are positive against 15% of OpenDrive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SugarSync ships an update every 5 months, OpenDrive every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
