# SugarSync vs DriveHQ File Manager

The clearest difference is rating: DriveHQ File Manager at 4.1 against SugarSync's 3.2. DriveHQ File Manager also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). SugarSync's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 7) and review sentiment (81% vs 63%). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DriveHQ File Manager sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. SugarSync asks for nothing beyond the download.

DriveHQ File Manager holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SugarSync has 115 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of SugarSync's written reviews are positive against 63% of DriveHQ File Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SugarSync ships an update every 5 months, DriveHQ File Manager every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
