# Simplenote vs JetNotes

The clearest difference is rating: Simplenote at 4.7 against JetNotes's 4.1. Simplenote also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (4.3K vs 7). JetNotes's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simplenote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and JetNotes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.29 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simplenote holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simplenote has 4.3K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of Simplenote's written reviews are positive against 83% of JetNotes's.

Simplenote ships an update fortnightly, JetNotes every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
