# Simplenote vs Elsewhere Reminders

The clearest difference is monetization model: Simplenote at free against Elsewhere Reminders's freemium. Simplenote also leads on ratings volume (4.3K vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). Elsewhere Reminders's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simplenote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Elsewhere Reminders sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Elsewhere Reminders holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simplenote has 4.3K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of Simplenote's written reviews are positive against 100% of Elsewhere Reminders's.

Simplenote ships an update fortnightly, Elsewhere Reminders every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
