# Simplenote vs Fling

The clearest difference is update cadence: Fling at every 5 days against Simplenote's fortnightly. Simplenote's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Simplenote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Fling sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simplenote ships an update fortnightly, Fling every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
