# Paint vs Draw

The clearest difference is rating: Paint at 5.0 against Draw's 4.2. Paint also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 7 months vs every 17 months). Draw's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (50% vs 24%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paint sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Draw asks for nothing beyond the download.

Paint holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Draw has 25 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Paint's written reviews are positive against 50% of Draw's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Paint ships an update every 7 months, Draw every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
