# FStream vs Triode

The clearest difference is rating: Triode at 4.2 against FStream's 3.7. FStream's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (76% vs 61%). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Triode sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. FStream asks for nothing beyond the download.

Triode holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 281 and 137 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of FStream's written reviews are positive against 61% of Triode's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
