# Timewerks vs TimeTracker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Timewerks at free with in-app purchases against TimeTracker's subscription. Timewerks also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and ads (none vs shown). TimeTracker's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Timewerks sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and TimeTracker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Timewerks holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Timewerks has 300 ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 79% of Timewerks's written reviews are positive against 65% of TimeTracker's.

Timewerks ships an update every 5 months, TimeTracker every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
