# Webcam free vs SOOP

The clearest difference is rating: SOOP at 4.2 against Webcam free's 2.6. SOOP also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (766 vs 5). Webcam free's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 22) and ads (none vs shown). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SOOP sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $5.49 per month. Webcam free asks for nothing beyond the download.

SOOP holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SOOP has 766 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Webcam free's written reviews are positive against 34% of SOOP's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Webcam free ships an update every 4 months, SOOP every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
