# R vs CygNet Operator

The clearest difference is update cadence: CygNet Operator at every 3 months against R's every 14 months. CygNet Operator also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). R's advantage is ratings volume (38 vs 7). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CygNet Operator holds the better App Store score, 3.4 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: R has 38 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

R ships an update every 14 months, CygNet Operator every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
