# iGV vs MCL Cinemas

The clearest difference is rating: iGV at 1.8 against MCL Cinemas's 1.0. iGV also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1). MCL Cinemas's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

iGV holds the better App Store score, 1.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iGV has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 5% of iGV's written reviews are positive against 6% of MCL Cinemas's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iGV ships an update every 4 months, MCL Cinemas monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
