# LAist vs AAFP Audio

The clearest difference is rating: LAist at 4.3 against AAFP Audio's 3.3. LAist also leads on ratings volume (652 vs 6). AAFP Audio's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 30%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LAist holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LAist has 652 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of LAist's written reviews are positive against 67% of AAFP Audio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LAist ships an update monthly, AAFP Audio every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
