# Edgewise vs Spider Solitaire・

The clearest difference is rating: Spider Solitaire・ at 4.7 against Edgewise's 2.8. Spider Solitaire・ also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). Edgewise's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (80% vs 54%). On price, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Edgewise sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Spider Solitaire・ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Spider Solitaire・ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spider Solitaire・ has 9.4K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Edgewise's written reviews are positive against 54% of Spider Solitaire・'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Edgewise ships an update every 9 months, Spider Solitaire・ every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on June 5, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
