# DC Metro vs MapSwitch

The clearest difference is price: DC Metro at Free against MapSwitch's $0.99. DC Metro also leads on review sentiment (61% vs 50%). MapSwitch's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 3.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

DC Metro is free to download; MapSwitch costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MapSwitch holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 25 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of DC Metro's written reviews are positive against 50% of MapSwitch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DC Metro ships an update every 7 months, MapSwitch fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
