# Voice Recorder vs Start Crypto

The clearest difference is ads: Voice Recorder at none against Start Crypto's shown. Start Crypto's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 7 months) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Voice Recorder sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per year and Start Crypto sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Voice Recorder ships an update every 7 months, Start Crypto every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
