# Target vs GameStop

Target and GameStop both sit at 4.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 59% of Target's written reviews are positive against 18% of GameStop's. Target also leads on ratings volume (7M vs 154K) and chart position (#14 vs #124). GameStop's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 days vs weekly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Target against 4.8 for GameStop. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Target has 7M ratings behind it against 154K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 59% of Target's written reviews are positive against 18% of GameStop's.

Target ships an update weekly, GameStop every 2 days. Both last shipped on November 8, 2026.
