# GPS vs GPS Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: GPS at 2.4 against GPS Tracker's 1.0. GPS also leads on monetization model (free vs paid) and chart position (#176 vs unranked). GPS Tracker's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 11 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

GPS costs $0.99 and GPS Tracker $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GPS holds the better App Store score, 2.4 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of GPS's written reviews are positive against 30% of GPS Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS ships an update every 11 months, GPS Tracker every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
