# FreeSaurus vs Poemhunter

The clearest difference is rating: Poemhunter at 4.6 against FreeSaurus's 3.4. Poemhunter also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (8.6K vs 119). FreeSaurus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Poemhunter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. FreeSaurus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Poemhunter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Poemhunter has 8.6K ratings behind it against 119, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of FreeSaurus's written reviews are positive against 40% of Poemhunter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FreeSaurus ships an update every 8 months, Poemhunter every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
