# Lufthansa vs EF Homestay

The clearest difference is ads: EF Homestay at none against Lufthansa's shown. EF Homestay also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Lufthansa's advantage is ratings volume (95K vs 1) and chart position (#82 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

EF Homestay holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lufthansa has 95K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Lufthansa ships an update fortnightly, EF Homestay every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
