# Backgammon vs Backgammon

Backgammon and Backgammon both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 65% of Backgammon's written reviews are positive against 21% of Backgammon's. Backgammon also leads on ratings volume (15K vs 735) and update cadence (every 5 months vs every 11 months). Backgammon's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Backgammon asks for nothing beyond the download.

Backgammon holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon has 15K ratings behind it against 735, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Backgammon's written reviews are positive against 21% of Backgammon's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon ships an update every 5 months, Backgammon every 11 months. Both last shipped on October 2, 2026.
