# Electrical Formulator vs Courtyard

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Courtyard at 75% against Electrical Formulator's 15%. Courtyard also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). Electrical Formulator's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.0). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Electrical Formulator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Courtyard asks for nothing beyond the download.

Electrical Formulator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Courtyard has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Electrical Formulator's written reviews are positive against 75% of Courtyard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Electrical Formulator ships an update every 2 months, Courtyard every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
