# TMZ vs SignalSCV

The clearest difference is ads: SignalSCV at none against TMZ's shown. SignalSCV also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). TMZ's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (214K vs 8). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TMZ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TMZ has 214K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 63% of TMZ's written reviews are positive against 50% of SignalSCV's.

TMZ ships an update monthly, SignalSCV every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
