# TMZ vs AFSCME 2474

The clearest difference is rating: TMZ at 4.8 against AFSCME 2474's 4.2. TMZ also leads on ratings volume (214K vs 5) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). AFSCME 2474's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 63%) and ads (none vs shown). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TMZ holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TMZ has 214K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of TMZ's written reviews are positive against 100% of AFSCME 2474's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TMZ ships an update monthly, AFSCME 2474 every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
