# TMZ vs Nerdcave77

The clearest difference is ads: Nerdcave77 at none against TMZ's shown. Nerdcave77 also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). TMZ's advantage is ratings volume (215K vs 1) and chart position (#172 vs unranked). On price, rating, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Nerdcave77 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TMZ has 215K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TMZ ships an update monthly, Nerdcave77 every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
