# clever vs Ad

The clearest difference is ads: Ad at none against clever's shown. Ad also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (100% vs 87%). clever's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. clever sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year and Ad sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

clever ships an update fortnightly, Ad every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
