# SightWords Pro vs Writing Wizard

The clearest difference is price: Writing Wizard at Free against SightWords Pro's $0.99. Writing Wizard also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.9) and ratings volume (5.2K vs 11). SightWords Pro's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.6). On review sentiment, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Writing Wizard is free to download; SightWords Pro costs $0.99 up front. Writing Wizard sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month. SightWords Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Writing Wizard holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Writing Wizard has 5.2K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of SightWords Pro's written reviews are positive against 73% of Writing Wizard's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
