# SightWords Pro vs Readability

The clearest difference is price: Readability at Free against SightWords Pro's $0.99. Readability also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.9) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). SightWords Pro's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (76% vs 56%). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Readability is free to download; SightWords Pro costs $0.99 up front. Readability sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. SightWords Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Readability holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readability has 25K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of SightWords Pro's written reviews are positive against 56% of Readability's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SightWords Pro ships an update every 4 months, Readability fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
