# Dive Log vs DIVE Magazine

The clearest difference is price: DIVE Magazine at Free against Dive Log's $14.99. DIVE Magazine also leads on review sentiment (95% vs 84%). Dive Log's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

DIVE Magazine is free to download; Dive Log costs $14.99 up front. Dive Log sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and DIVE Magazine sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dive Log holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dive Log has 106 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Dive Log's written reviews are positive against 95% of DIVE Magazine's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Dive Log ships an update monthly, DIVE Magazine every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
