# Cribbage vs Equ8

The clearest difference is ads: Equ8 at none against Cribbage's shown. Equ8 also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). Cribbage's advantage is ratings volume (7.9K vs 3). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cribbage sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Equ8 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Equ8 holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cribbage has 7.9K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Cribbage ships an update every 2 months, Equ8 every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
