# Calculator SC vs Codex Calc

The clearest difference is rating: Calculator SC at 4.7 against Codex Calc's 4.0. Calculator SC also leads on ratings volume (118 vs 1) and device support (5 vs 3). Codex Calc's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%) and price ($0.99 vs $3.99). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Calculator SC costs $3.99 and Codex Calc $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Calculator SC holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculator SC has 118 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Calculator SC's written reviews are positive against 100% of Codex Calc's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calculator SC ships an update every 5 months, Codex Calc every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
