# iconclock vs TimerZ

The clearest difference is rating: TimerZ at 4.7 against iconclock's 3.2. TimerZ also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs paid). iconclock's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (83% vs 60%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iconclock sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and TimerZ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TimerZ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 26 and 10 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of iconclock's written reviews are positive against 60% of TimerZ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iconclock ships an update weekly, TimerZ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
