# Cathay Pacific vs China Eastern

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cathay Pacific at 70% against China Eastern's 2%. Cathay Pacific also leads on rating (4.4 vs 1.3) and ratings volume (2.7K vs 8). China Eastern's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cathay Pacific holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cathay Pacific has 2.7K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Cathay Pacific's written reviews are positive against 2% of China Eastern's.

Cathay Pacific ships an update fortnightly, China Eastern every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
