# APOD NASA Widget & Photos vs Flashback

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Flashback at 100% against APOD NASA Widget & Photos's 49%. Flashback also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 3 months). APOD NASA Widget & Photos's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (91 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. APOD NASA Widget & Photos sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Flashback asks for nothing beyond the download.

APOD NASA Widget & Photos holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: APOD NASA Widget & Photos has 91 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of APOD NASA Widget & Photos's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flashback's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

APOD NASA Widget & Photos ships an update every 3 months, Flashback every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
