# Minesweeper Classic vs Minesweeper

The clearest difference is rating: Minesweeper Classic at 4.7 against Minesweeper's 4.1. Minesweeper Classic also leads on ratings volume (3.1K vs 20). Minesweeper's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Minesweeper Classic sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. Minesweeper asks for nothing beyond the download.

Minesweeper Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Minesweeper Classic has 3.1K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Minesweeper Classic's written reviews are positive against 68% of Minesweeper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
