# TracPlus vs Gaia GPS

The clearest difference is rating: Gaia GPS at 4.8 against TracPlus's 2.7. Gaia GPS also leads on ratings volume (32K vs 3) and chart position (#8 vs unranked). TracPlus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and review sentiment (50% vs 38%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gaia GPS sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. TracPlus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Gaia GPS holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gaia GPS has 32K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of TracPlus's written reviews are positive against 38% of Gaia GPS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TracPlus ships an update every 6 weeks, Gaia GPS monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
