# ipFob vs Control4

The clearest difference is rating: ipFob at 4.4 against Control4's 3.6. ipFob also leads on ratings volume (352 vs 70) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). Control4's advantage is review sentiment (39% vs 29%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ipFob holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ipFob has 352 ratings behind it against 70, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of ipFob's written reviews are positive against 39% of Control4's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ipFob ships an update every 3 weeks, Control4 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
