# Flashcards Deluxe vs Capsular

The clearest difference is price: Capsular at Free against Flashcards Deluxe's $4.99. Capsular also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Flashcards Deluxe's advantage is ratings volume (335 vs 1) and chart position (#69 vs unranked). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Capsular is free to download; Flashcards Deluxe costs $4.99 up front. Flashcards Deluxe sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month and Capsular sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Capsular holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashcards Deluxe has 335 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Flashcards Deluxe ships an update monthly, Capsular fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
