# Tapatalk vs JGF Forum

The clearest difference is rating: Tapatalk at 4.4 against JGF Forum's 3.3. Tapatalk also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 20 months) and ratings volume (16K vs 3). JGF Forum's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tapatalk sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month. JGF Forum asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tapatalk holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tapatalk has 16K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Tapatalk ships an update every 2 weeks, JGF Forum every 20 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
