# Tapatalk vs BashMaps

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Tapatalk at 16K against BashMaps's 52. Tapatalk also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.2). BashMaps's advantage is review sentiment (72% vs 49%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tapatalk sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month and BashMaps sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tapatalk holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tapatalk has 16K ratings behind it against 52, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Tapatalk's written reviews are positive against 72% of BashMaps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tapatalk ships an update every 3 weeks, BashMaps every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
