# Tapatalk vs ShotCentral

The clearest difference is ads: ShotCentral at none against Tapatalk's shown. ShotCentral also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Tapatalk's advantage is ratings volume (16K vs 6). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tapatalk sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per month and ShotCentral sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Tapatalk against 4.5 for ShotCentral. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tapatalk has 16K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 49% and 50% positive.

Tapatalk ships an update every 3 weeks, ShotCentral weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
