# MFT Exam Pro vs DSM

The clearest difference is price: DSM at Free against MFT Exam Pro's $12.99. DSM also leads on rating (4.7 vs 3.1) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 29 months). MFT Exam Pro's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

DSM is free to download; MFT Exam Pro costs $12.99 up front. DSM sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month. MFT Exam Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

DSM holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DSM has 308 ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of MFT Exam Pro's written reviews are positive against 33% of DSM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MFT Exam Pro ships an update every 29 months, DSM every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
