# YouMail vs SMS Filter

The clearest difference is ads: SMS Filter at none against YouMail's shown. YouMail's advantage is chart position (#135 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. YouMail sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and SMS Filter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
