# D0TS Echoplex vs Egoist

The clearest difference is rating: Egoist at 4.6 against D0TS Echoplex's 3.1. Egoist also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 11 months). D0TS Echoplex's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (412 vs 65). On price, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Egoist sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. D0TS Echoplex asks for nothing beyond the download.

Egoist holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: D0TS Echoplex has 412 ratings behind it against 65, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of D0TS Echoplex's written reviews are positive against 69% of Egoist's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

D0TS Echoplex ships an update every 11 months, Egoist every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
