# MASH Touch Lite vs Squares*

The clearest difference is rating: Squares* at 4.0 against MASH Touch Lite's 3.0. MASH Touch Lite's advantage is review sentiment (85% vs 50%) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 19 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Squares* holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of MASH Touch Lite's written reviews are positive against 50% of Squares*'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MASH Touch Lite ships an update every 2 months, Squares* every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
