# iPieta vs Retrograde

The clearest difference is review sentiment: iPieta at 88% against Retrograde's 40%. iPieta also leads on monetization model (free vs paid) and ratings volume (510 vs 1). Retrograde's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Retrograde holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: iPieta has 510 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of iPieta's written reviews are positive against 40% of Retrograde's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iPieta ships an update fortnightly, Retrograde monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
